A scientific view of radioactivity from its beginnings to our days
Description
The annals of this seminar organized in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the radioactivity decade (1895-1907) verse on the beginnings and history of the nuclear science and its applications. It highlights the contributions of Maria Sklodowska Curie; it presents an overview of the main discoveries in physics during the late nineteenth century; it presents some considerations regarding a proper use of radiation and finally it discusses the importance that currently have biomedical applications of radiation and the pioneer role of Argentina in this topic

Las actas de este Seminario organizado en conmemoracion del 100mo aniversario de la decada de la radioactividad (1895-1907) tratan acerca de los inicios y la historia de la ciencia nuclear y sus aplicaciones. Se destaca el aporte de la primera mujer en obtener un doctorado en Francia, Maria Sklodowska Curie, se da una una vision general de los descubrimientos de la fisica de fines del siglo XIX, se resalta la vigencia que las investigaciones de aquella epoca tienen en nuestros dias, se exponen algunas consideraciones en cuanto a la responsabilidad de los resultados de esos descubrimientos y la manera en que esto obliga a hacer un uso adecuado de las radiaciones y finalmente, se analiza la importancia que en la actualidad tienen las aplicaciones biomedicas de las radiaciones y del rol pionero que le cupo a la Republica Argentina en este temaFiles
