Rotational band structures of 56124Ba
Description
The contour plot of the potential energy surfaces calculated by the dynamic deformation model (DDM) shows that 124Ba is a deformed nucleus. The deformation parameters are equal to β = 0.343 and β = 0.267, on the prolate-oblate sides respectively. So, 124Ba is a deformed nucleus and it's level spectra is rotational-like. This is in full agreement with the interacting boson approximation model (IBA-2) calculations and the available experimental data. The energy of thirteen levels were calculated by the two models. Nine states of them are new and they do not have any corresponding experimental values. The reduced transition probability of seven gamma transitions were calculated using the two models and there is no available experimental data for comparison. The agreement between the calculated values using the two models are fairly good. (author). 15 refs., 4 figs., 2 tabs
