Research techniques for hydrogen diffusion in reactor materials

Description

Experimental methods employed for identification of hydrogen diffusion factors in zirconium items of nuclear reactors are considered and advantages of thermodiffusion method are pointed out. Main results of complex experimental and theoretical study of hydrogen thermodiffusion in the Russian base industrial alloy Eh110 (Zr-1% Nb) are presented. It has been ascertained that predicted hydrogen profiles obtained using the proposed computation scheme differ from the experimentally obtained profiles by 30% at most, which is comparable with the accuracy of up-to-date diffusion experiment

Abstract (Russian)

Рассмотрены экспериментальные методы, используемые для определения коэффициентов диффузии водорода в циркониевых изделиях атомных реакторов, и отмечены достоинства термодиффузионного метода. Представлены основные результаты комплексного экспериментально-теоретического исследования термодиффузии водорода в базовом промышленном российском сплаве Э110 (Zr-1%Nb). Установлено, что прогнозируемые профили водорода, полученные с использованием предложенной вычислительной схемы, отличаются от экспериментальных профилей не более, чем на 30%, что сопоставимо с точностью современного диффузионного эксперимента
