Description

Miniaturized specimen test techniques (MSTT) are required to be developed for testing methods of fusion reactor materials, because the materials are essential to be tested using the neutron source of 14 MeV. The MSTT is also useful for measuring thermophysical property of small area in fission reactor fuels. In this study, small disc of 3 mm in diameter and 1 mm in thickness has been developed for measuring thermal diffusion coefficient and specific heat capacity. In addition, a temperature indicator was developed using the infrared micro-thermometer, and confirmed it had a capability for responding to temperature change of small area of 100 μm in diameter on the specimen surface heated by laser-beam. It was also confirmed that thermal diffusion distribution of small area was possible to be measured by using the device newly developed. (author)
