The model for funding the mediterranean solar plan
Description
The Mediterranean Solar Plan's (MSP) principal objective is to produce, by 2020, 20 GW of additional - low-carbon, mainly solar - electricity in countries on the southern and eastern shores of the Mediterranean. A study led by French authorities have validated the initial studies made for identifying needs, the technology to be used and the cost of the investments necessary for building renewable energy power stations. The results of the economic and financial simulations of the MSP are presented. It is shown that on a mean term view private financing will have to take over public funding but the financing from public funds alone of the first stage of MSP is possible
