Determination of the dispersion coefficient, in rivers through radioactive and fluorescent tracers
Description
The purpose of this work was to determine experimentally the dispersion coefficient in natural streams through the aplication of radioactive and fluorescent tracers. The technique used to obtain the experimental data was the simmultaneous injection of the radioactive tracer Bromim - 82 and the fluorescent ones, Amidorodamine G. extra and Uranine. A comparison among these different tracers is shown as well as the performance of Uranine in a poluented stream in the presence of suspended sediments. The site chosen for the experiments was the Piabanha River, between Pedro do Rio and Areal, located at Rio de Janeiro state, in a nearly 20 Km strech. (Author)

O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar experimentalmente o coeficiente de dispersao, em escoamentos naturais, atraves da aplicacao de tracadores radioativos e fluorescentes. A tecnica utilizada na obtencao dos dados experimentais consistiu na injecao instantanea do tracador radioativo Bromo - 82 e tracadores fluorescentes, Amidorodamina G. extra e Uranina. Foi feita uma comparacao entre o desempenho dos diferentes tracadores e observada a eficiencia da Uranina, em escoamentos sujeitos a forte carga de poluicao e de sedimentos em suspensao. O local escolhido para os experimentos de campo foi o Rio Piabanha, entre as localidades de Pedro do Rio e Areal, no Estado do Rio de Janeiro compreendendo um trecho de aproximadamente 20 Km.
