Reference sources for the calibration of surface contamination monitors - Part 2: Electrons of energy less than 0.15 MeV and photons of energy less than 1.5 MeV. 1. ed.

Description

The present part of the International Standard 8769 defines the properties of the referent sources which enable standardisation of the control of surface contamination, following the national standards. It refers to a series of electron sources having energies less than 0.15 MeV and photon sources with energies less than 1.5 MeV, meant for standardisation of devices for measuring of radioactive materials disintegrating due to electron capture and isomeric transitions. Electron emitting sources would be used for standardisation of tritium detectors and other detectors for low energy beta emitters. This part does not describe the operation modes which include standard sources for control of surface contamination, these procedures are described in ISO 7503-2 and ISO 7503-3
