Description

In this work, it is shown that the polymeric precursor is an efficient preparation method for Zr O 2 powder with high specific surface area and reactivity. Through this preparations rate it was possible to get better sintering results when compared with the conventional process (oxides mixes), without contamination due to the milling process. Considering this process and the iron oxides effect, it was possible to get 98% of the theoretical density. Density was measured by mercuric picnometry. The specific surface area and phase compositions were measured by BET and X-ray diffraction, respectively. (author)
