Description

Three-dimensional computations were carried out using a newly developed two-phase flow analysis code in order to analyze numerically free surface characteristics between water and vapor in narrow fuel channels with rectangular spacer ribs for reduced-moderation light water reactors. Calculations were conducted under isothermal condition. Major calculation parameters are water and vapor velocities at the channel inlet and initial thickness of water on the channel floor. The Liquid film flow behavior around one or two spacer ribs was predicted quantitatively. (author)
