Thin stretched polypropylene foils
- 1. Tandemacceleratorlaboratoriet, Uppsala (Sweden)
Description
The method to produce very thin foils of polypropylene, described by Barrus and Blake, has been used for fabricating thin gas tight entrance windows for ionization chambers. Thicknesses down to about 15 μg/cm2 have been achieved and preliminary strength tests have been made. Results from these tests and the particular apparatus used are described. (orig.)
