Description
This paper is divided into two parts. The first part is a commentary about what was presented and what was not presented in the first two and one-half days of this meeting concerning the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's approach to setting radioactive waste disposal standards. The second part is a description of the technical approach to performance assessment in the National Waste Terminal Storage Program. The comments concerning the NRC approach to waste disposal standards are made as a member of the technical public; the description of the NWTS technical approach to performance assessment is made as a member of a DOE contractor organization
