Improvements in or relating to radiography
Description
Tomographic apparatus for use in biomedical radiography is described in detail. The radiation source and detectors are capable of rotating around the axis of the body under investigation to measure the absorption coefficients of a particular slice. Additionally, the detectors and source are capable of lateral motion across the body slice. Detailed suggestions of the number and optimum angular size of the detectors are given as well as the various angular steps of rotation of the source and detectors. Rotations in excess of 1800 may be performed since the direction of travel of the X-radiation is not significant for constructing the absorption picture. (UK)
