Resistivity geo electrical investigation for groundwater resources existence at Cipanas, West Java

The ground water resources investigation at Wisma BATAN has been carried out for water supply necessity. At the time being the water used has been supplied from shallow opened well which is dark yellow in colour. The investigation covered is about 2 ha. Lithology of the area consist of a volcanic product of Gunung Gede activity. Resistivity measurement using Wenner configuration by spread 300 metre to gain 100 metre penetration depth. The measurement result at 12 sounding location discovered resistivity value 100 Ω m which is interpreted as an aquifer at 60 - 100 m depth. The drilling test shows that the aquifer was found at 60 - 80 m depth and the thickness is about 20 metres
