20 December Act No 103 amending Act No 28 of 12 May 1972 on Nuclear Energy Activities

Description
This Act amended the 1972 Act to take account of the ratification by Norway of the Protocols of 1982 to amend the Paris Convention on Third Party Liability in the Field of Nuclear Energy and the Brussels Supplementary Convention respectively. The amendments bring the third party liability provisions of the Act in line with the Conventions as amended by the Protocols. The modifications concern, inter alia, certain definitions, conversion of the unit of account into the Special Drawing Right (SDR) of the International Monetary Fund and increases in the amount of liability assigned at State level by a factor of approximately 2.5. Cette Loi modifie la Loi de 1972 pour tenir compte de la ratification par la Norvege des Protocoles de 1982 portant respectivement modification de la Convention de Paris sur la responsabilite civile dans le domaine de l'energie nucleaire et de la Convention Complementaire de Bruxelles. Les amendements rendent les dispositions de la Loi relatives a la responsabilite civile, conformes aux Conventions, telles que modifiees par les Protocoles. Les modifications portent notamment sur certaines definitions, le remplacement de l'unite de compte par le Droit de Tirage Special (DTS) du Fonds Monetaire International et l'augmentation du montant de responsabilite au niveau de l'Etat d'un facteur d'environ 2,5Files
