The effect of neutral currents in n-p capture
Description
A calculation of the circular polarization and the asymmetry of gamma radiation with parity nonconserving potentials from the Cabibbo and the Weinberg-Salam model is presented. The authors obtain Psub(γ) approximately 4 to 6 x 10-8 in the first and Psub(γ) approximately -4 to 0.2 x 10-8 in the latter case. The implications of a possible 3S1-3S1 transition are discussed which may become important when neutral currents are taken into account by the Weinberg-Salam model. (Auth.)
