Atomic and nuclear resonant coherent excitation of heavy ions at relativistic energies

Description
The paper considers the resonance coherent excitation of electron levels of relativistic hydrogen-like heavy ions and low nuclear levels of relativistic nuclei which fly through oriented crystal targets. Specific calculations performed for 58 Ni27+ ions and 169 Tm nuclei demonstrate a possibility to detect and study in detail the prominent resonances which occur at certain values of initial beam energy due to new experimental capability of a unique heavy ion accelerating complex in GSI (Darmstadt, Germany). 21 refs., 9 figs
