Description
This study demonstrated an effective technique for construction of neovascularized cutaneous cartilage flaps. The central vessels of the pinna and a piece of cartilage were dissected out and placed in a subcutaneous flap pocket of a random-pattern, distally based flap. The neovascularization progress began in 1 week. At 3rd to 4th week, the outgrowth achieved the highest level, and new vessels anastomose in the flaps. In the meantime, new cartilage cells formed
