Design and application of a nuclear data system

A radionuclide data system established for various uses is presented. Besides the schematic use of the data base, given by fixed and recurring classes of problems, a non-schematic use has been made possible due to random access to individual data. The applicability is demonstrated using as examples the management, revision and archiving of the data base, the incorporation of other data bases, the calculation of radionuclide decay chains, and the determination of gamma spectra of any radionuclide mixture
