Influence of low doses of X rays on radiation-induced genetic instabilityy

  • 1. Nagasaki Univ. (Japan)

Description

One of the phenomena attracting attention in the biological effects of radiation is an induction of heritable instability in cells. Some researchers have reported that delayed reproductive death and delayed chromosome aberration occurred in the progeny of cells, irradiated with various kinds of radiation. The authors initiated this study to determine whether such phenomena were universal and whether preirradiation of low-dose X rays modified the frequency of radiation-induced genetic instability
