Description
The on-shore data acquisition system of a km3-scale underwater neutrino telescope is required to acquire continuously the digitized signals of 10 000 photomultiplier tubes to apply filtering methods and search for signatures of candidate muon and neutrino events in real time. We propose the use of reconfigurable computing architectures, to perform the data acquisition tasks of a neutrino telescope its control system and the associated underwater observatory instruments.
