Analysis of the effect of radioactive cloud's inhomogeneity upon the dosage rate

Creators

Description

The effect has been analyzed of the inhomogeneity of activity in a radioactive cloud produced by a nuclear explosion, upon the dosage rate. A normal model was considered of a stabilized cloud as well as the cloud dynamics. It has been demonstrated that for a medium- and high explosion power, the radioactive cloud can be regarded as an infinite and homogeneous radiation source. In this connection the dosage rate is fairly approximately directly proportional to the voluminal activity, which simplifies markedly the problem of calculation the dosage rate in a radioactive cloud.
