Irradiation and congenital malformations
Description
Disfigurement as a result of exposure to low irradiation doses is discussed. Experimental results of some authors are reported. Actual research is set up to find the relationship between irradiations in the period preceeding pregnancy and the number of embryos in the gestation. The effect on disfigurement of man resulting from the exposure to low doses is not to be discerned from the prevailing disfigurement in populations. The possibility of an effect with reference to the time sequence of development is discussed, together with the induction of late effects. (G.C.)
