Gamma scanning of PFBR MOX fuel pins irradiated in FBTR

Description
Gamma scanning is an important technique employed for non-destructive evaluation of irradiated fuel pins. Knowledge of the fission product distribution and their migration behaviour is important for understanding and characterizing the in-reactor behavior of the fuel. Axial and radial gamma scanning has been carried out on the fuel pins of PFBR MOX test subassembly irradiated in FBTR to a peak burn up of 112 GWd/t. This paper covers the results of gamma scanning and correlation of gamma scanning with other PIE techniques. (author)
