Description
The Modular high temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) and the Combined cycle represent the most advanced technologies of nuclear power and fossil fuel generation respectively. The HTGR incorporated with combined cycle is a new concept which is expected to improve safety and economy of nuclear power plant significantly. So it is a potential scheme with competitiveness. The status and trend of HTGR and Combined Cycle is presented, and the HTGR-Combined Cycle is analysed from the point of the technic potential of the forthcoming 10-20 years. Then three representative scheme with different core exit temperature are presented. For example, if the core exit temperature is 1050 degree C, the efficiency will be 51.4%
