Decontaminating device

Description

Purpose: To facilitate the separation and the reuse of a fluid and a polishing material for use in decontamination thereby improving the decontaminating efficiency. Constitution: Both freon gas and small pieces of wall nut shells as a soft polishing material are jetted out from a spray gun onto the contaminated materials for decontamination. The mixture of the freon and the polishing material after use are separated due to the difference in the specific gravity and by the use of a filter, and jetted out again from the spray gun to continue the decontamination. After the completion of the decontamination, only the freon is jetted out to carry out the cleaning. Mist and gas of freon dispersed in the processing chamber are recovered and non-condensated mist and gas are returned to the processing chamber. The freon contaminated with radioactive materials after the repeating use is purified by evaporation under heating. (Sekiya, K.)
