Report on the development of the major components for the SNR-300 reactor

This report, from Neratom BV and Interatom GMBH, summarises the results of a year's development and testing on some critical components. These components include the rotary top shield and its bearing problems (Polyimid material is now preferred), the pumps, the intermediate heat exchanger, the steam generator and the armatures for control valves. Problems of inspection and cleaning, and on/off times to reduce thermal stresses, are discussed and a new type of flowmeter is reported. (G.M.E.)
