On the treatment of X- and gamma-ray images in acceptance tests

The quality assurance of technical products has in the past attained an increasingly higher position. This is above all attributed to the greater need for safety in nuclear engineering as well as to aeronautics and astronautics. It will certainly become still more important due to changes in jurisdiction in the field of product liability. A not unimportant factor in quality assurance is the qualifications of personnel, in particular of personnel for non-destructive tests, because here the subjective influences on the force of expression of the results are particularly great. Demands on test personnel are already laid down in various regulations both here and abroad. As an educational institution the DGZfP must respond to this change and adjust its educational measures accordingly. On levels 1 and 2, the lower and higher qualification levels, the educational courses presently on offer correspond roughly to the national and international requirements. On level 3, on the other hand, education ought to be more extensive. (orig.)
