First Proposal of a Follow-up Program for AVR Fuel Elements; Operation 0721
Description
Automatic translation: In connection with the planned takeover of the AVR reactor by the KFA, the working group "Spherical Fuel Elements" (Meeting 5/70 on 9th July 1970 in Mannheim) proposed a first draft of a long-term follow-up program for AVR fuel elements. The basic idea behind this proposal is the unique possibility of being able to record the changes in the properties of fuel elements of a pebble bed reactor under realistic HTR irradiation conditions as a function of their burn-up with great statistical certainty, even if the burn-up / dose - temperature - time - history of the individual Fuel element individual is known only within relatively wide limits.
Abstract (German)
Im Zusammenhang mit der geplant en Übernahme des AVR-Reaktors durch die KFA wurde vom Arbeitskreis "Kugelförmige Brennelemente" (Sitzung 5/70 am 9. Juli 70 in Mannheim) ein erster Entwurf eines langfristigen Nachuntersuchungsprogrammes für AVR-Brennelemente vorgeschlagen. Der Grundgedanke in der Aufstellung dieses Vorschlags besteht in der einzigartigen Möglichkeit , die Eigenschaftsänderungen von Brennelementen eines Kugelhaufenreaktors unter realistischen HTR-Bestrahlungsbedingungen als Funktion ihres Abbrandes mit groBer statistischer Sicherheit erfassen zu können, auch wenn die Abbrand/Dosis - Temperatur - Zeit - Geschichte des einzelnen Brennelement-Individuums nur in relativ weiten Grenzen bekannt ist.Files
