Description

High priority should be given to measurement of the longitudinal analyzing power Az through a transmission measurement in the multi-GeV region. A low-energy p-p parity-violation measurement of Az would provide an important consistency check of the systematic error of previous measurements. For a determination of the weak meson-nucleon coupling constant Fπ, a new measurement of the parity-violating analyzing power in p-α scattering is of great value. Measurements of the parity-violating rotation of the spin of polarized cold neutrons in para-hydrogen will provide another significant handle on information about the weak nuclear interaction. The participants of the Symposium-Workshop on Parity Violation in Hadronic Systems have adopted the following 'Vancouver Convention': We recommend that analyses of parity-violation data that use the meson exchange model employ a consistent set of strong MNN couplings and correlations. Use of the Bonn N-N potential is recommended
