Impurity behaviour in RFX

Description
Impurity line emission has been routinely measured in RFX in the spectral range 20-7000 A by means of three vacuum spectrometers and a multichord visible one, in order to monitor the impurity content in the discharge under different operational conditions. The simulation of the experimental data by a 1-dimensional model has allowed the evaluation of the plasma effective charge and of the impurity diffusion. (author) 5 refs., 7 figs
