Utility classification group position on important to safety
Description
Do you properly maintain your NSR equipment. Do you use operating and maintenance procedures. Do you have a PM Program for this equipment. Do you have a formal QA Program for B.O.P.. These are some of the questions the NRC has recently been asking in connection with the safety classification issue. What has all this got to do with the safety classification issue. It appears the NRC is concerned how utilities maintain their NSR equipment. In order to satisfy their curiosity in this area, the NRC is attempting to redefine the term important to safety and establish formal requirements for NSR structures, systems, and components. The Utility Safety Classification Group was formed to interact with the NRC to resolve their concerns
