A device for determining impurities in alkaline metals
Description
Description is given of a device for determining impurities contained in an alkaline metal through the distillation of the latter at reduced pressure. It comprises a cylindrical enclosure with a cover and a bottom, the cylindrical portion comprising two openings, one of which communicates with vacuum generating suction means which the other is used for charging alkaline metal samples. The device is characterized by a heating plate, mounted in the lower portion of the enclosure, on which are placed several removable crucibles containing the alkaline metal samples. That device can be used to analyse sodium of nuclear reactors
Abstract (French)
On decrit un dispositif pour le dosage d'impuretes dans un metal alcalin par distillation de celui-ci sous pression reduite. Il comprend une enceinte cylindrique avec un couvercle, et un fond et dont la partie cylindrique comporte deux ouvertures dont l'une est reliee a des moyens d'aspiration pour creer un vide et dont l'autre sert au chargement d'echantillons de metal alcalin. Ce dispositif est caracterise par un plateau chauffant dispose a la partie inferieure de l'enceinte, sur lequel sont places plusieurs creusets amovibles contenant les echantillons de metal alcalin.
