Automatozation of a photonuclear experiment
Description
The photon sources most currently used are discussed with the method for producing monochromatic photons at AL60 (positon in-flight annihilation) for studying γn reactions; the new data acquisition and automatization systems used at ALS are also described. This automatization was intended for accelerating the acquisition of nuclear data, improving the reproducibility of the experimental conditions, and increasing the number of the parameters measured for each experimental point, in view of the simultaneous on-line computer storage of the unavoidable fluctuations, especially those depending on the positon beam from the ALS
