Synergy effect in graphite under irradiation by electrons and H+ ions

Description
Sputtering graphite grade MPG-8 and sitall ig investigated under simultaneous irradiation by 10 keV H+ ions and electrons in the range of 100 to 800 deg C. For the sake of comparison, results of sputtering coefficient investigation for the mentioned materials irradiated solely by hydrogen ions at 100-1600 deg C are presetned. It is shown that simultaneous irradiation by electrons and hydrogen ions leads to an essential increase in the chemical sputtering coefficients. For graphite grade MPG-8 it also results in extension of the temperature range where chemical sputtering is observed
