Development of Research Reactor Technology

Description

The JRTR (Jordan Research and Training Reactor) project won a contract to be an international research reactor supplier, which it is a great achievement as the first total nuclear system exportation in Korea. As the organization formulated for the JRTR project, a system design was carried out by each engineering sections. The detailed design includes a max. thermal flux of 3×1013n/cm2s/MW, a middle type research reactor (5MW class) completed a core design, a primary cooling system and connecting system design, a reactor mechanical design, and a instrumentation and control system design. A construction permit was requested to prepare the post safety analysis report and a radiation environmental report. Its firm technology competitiveness will allow the design to reach international research markets. It won the position of a second research reactor supplier, and received international acclaim by the successful completion of the JRTR project. It will contribute to human developments offering a high-performance research reactor using the tools of neutron research and industrial usage.
