Institutional collaboration for the development of the first national radioactive waste inventory

Full text: The national radioactive waste inventory represents a public record of information on radioactive waste stored or disposed in waste management facilities, according to the waste classification scheme(s). The goal is to provide, in an open and transparent manner, a comprehensive and up-to-date assay (e.g. sources, amounts and waste characterization) for those interested in radioactive waste issues. It will enable Romania to meet international reporting obligations and to develop strategic plans for the management of radioactive waste. This paper presents the software application for the national radioactive waste inventory and the planned collaboration for the development of first national radioactive waste inventory for Romania.
