Structural interpretation of remote sensing images and its significance in ore prospecting of Jiesa lake area, Tibet

Description

It is difficult to carry out geology and mineral resources survey in Tibet, where remote sensing technology can play a positive guiding role. Based on ETM+ remote sensing data, the authors carried out remote sensing geological structural interpretation for Jiesa Lake area in Tibet with much attention paid to the extraction of uranium and polymetallic mineralization information, such as linear and circular structure. In combination with available geological and mine data, the distribution regularities of linear and circular structures were analyzed and evaluated. The result indicates that the NW linear structures are the most dominating structures, and the intersecting areas of the linear structures overlapped by the circular structures are the favorable metallogenic regions.
