Description

A method was developed for the determination of material transport, dwelling time, place of dust formation and adhesion in dry and wet revolving furnaces for clinkering. The material was labelled instantaneously by 24Na in Na2CO3 form before feeding into the furnace. Detectors were set at the feeder, at the swirl chamber, at the flue of waste gases, at the inflow of the furnace and three different points of the outer surface of furnace. Simultaneously with the activity measurement by detectors sampling was carried out from the dust precipitated in the filter and in the cooler and from the clinker outflowing from the furnace. Measuring the activity of clinker and knowing the performance data exactly, the amount of dust outgoing with waste gases from the furnace can be estimated. (K.A.)
