3-phenyl-4-benzoyl-5-isoxazolone: A novel extractant for tetravalent neptunium
Description
The extraction of neptunium(IV) with 3-phenyl-4-benzoyl-5-isoxazolene has been investigated. Species of the type Np(PBI)4 are extracted from nitric acid medium. The extraction from different mineral acid solutions as well as the stripping characteristics of several reagents are also reported. Based on this work, an analytical procedure for the separation of Np from Pu is suggested. (orig.)
