Method of conducting cold nuclear fusion reaction and its device

Description

A method of electrolysis of heavy water has been proposed as a method of conducting nuclear fusion reaction of deuterium in low temperature solids. However, the heat of reaction is an extremely small value for putting into practical use as an energy source. In view of the above, deuterium ions are formed in a vacuum under a pressure less than 10-4 Torr and accelerated under a voltage of higher than 1 kV, and irradiating them to a fixed substrate containing at least one of palladium nickel, titanium, graphite and boron nitrides thereby causing nuclear fusion reactions at the surface layer of the fixed substrate at a temperature lower than 1000degC. This method can increase the probability in which deuterium is present at the identical position and increase the probability of causing nuclear fusion reaction. Since the amount of the deuterium injected can be controlled, an energy source of high efficiency and stability can be obtained. (N.H.)
