A non-invasive method for measurement of glomerular filtration without immobilisation of the patient

Description
The report concerns a new technique for measurement of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) by use of a CdTe-semiconductor system with a portable solid state memory for data storage. The time activity curves are measured at both sides of the sternum infraclavicularly, data analysis is performed using a monocompartment model. The results in one patient's investigation by use of two detectors and two plasma samples do not vary significantly providing indirect evidance for good reproducibility of the technique. The correlation between sup(99m)Tc-DTPA-clearance and endogenous creatinineclearance is satisfactory. This new technique is very useful for clinical routine work because of low costs and no need of skilled technician's time. (orig.)

Es wird ueber eine neue Moeglichkeit der Messung des Glomerulumfiltrats berichtet unter Verwendung eines CdTe-Halbleitersystems mit portablem Festspeicher zur Registrierung einer Zeitaktivitaetskurve ueber der oberen Thoraxapertur. Die Auswertung nach einem Einkammermodell unter Verwendung von sup(99m)Tc-DTPA ergibt stabile Clearancewerte, die kaum abhaengig sind von Detektorposition und Zeitpunkt der Blutabnahme. Die Korrelation mit der endogenen Kreatininclearance ist befriedigend. Die breite Einfuehrung dieser wenig kostenintensiven und wenig personalintensiven Methode ist erstrebenswert.
