Description
The photon collecting efficiency of cylinder and cone type ST401 plastic scintillators wrapped with film reflector was simulated with the Geant4 code, and measurement of the detector output current were performed with a collimated 60Co 7-ray source. For cylinder scintillator, the simulation and measurements show that aluminum foil improved the photon collection efficiency by a factor of 2.72 and 1.99, respectively, while for cone scintillator the improvement were 4.57 and 2.45, respectively. The reflecting films have better effect for cone scintillators, and an optimized cone shape was obtained. (authors)
