Internal targets for storage rings
Description
Storage-ring operation with the combination of thin internal targets and phase-space cooling of the stored beams allows high-precision experiments to be made under very clean conditions. Here we discuss the advantages and drawbacks of the internal-target systems currently in use or under development. (orig.)
