Evaluation methods for the Rossendorf proton recoil counter spectrometer

The method of converting proton recoil spectra measured by means of the Rossendorf proton recoil counter spectrometer into neutron spectra is described. Evaluation covers the following complexes: subtraction of the gamma background in the low energy range, determination of an approximate neutron spectrum by differentiation, and consideration of the wall effect.
