Report of neutron spectrometers group in joint project

Description

To investigate spectrometers set up to 1MW pulsed neutron source in the high-intensity proton accelerator project, the spectrometers group was organized in June 2000. The group consisted of 10 sub groups. This final report stated the results of investigation by these sub groups. 40 spectrometers were proposed in order to built the highest performance pulse neutron spectrometer in the world. The concept design of device, performance and problems for realization of instruction, simulation and discussion with other groups for optimization of neutron source were considered. The content of the report consisted of power diffractometers, single crystal diffractometers, total diffractometers, chopper spectrometers, no chopper spectrometers, spin echo, small-angle scattering instruments, reflectometers, biological instruments, radiography and data acquisition and analysis.
