REB interaction experiments with plasmas

  • 1. Osaka Univ., Toyonaka (Japan). Faculty of Engineering Science

Description

The spherical ablation to compress and ignite thermonuclear burn of a fuel pellet depends on the efficient dissipation mechanism to deposit most of electron beam energy symmetrically in the outer thin portion of a target. The energy deposition mechanism in the irradiation of a plane solid, low Z target with focused beam has been studied. There exists anomalously stronger interaction than classical one. (Mori, K.)
