Description
Reactor vessel comprising a baffle constituted by a horizontal surface resting freely on fixed bearings and fitted around its internal and external edges, as well as at the crossing of each ring, with a turned over edge immersed in the liquid metal, thereby trapping a blanket of neutral gas under the horizontal surface of the baffle. In this way a complete seal is achieved between the volume of hot liquid metal above the baffle and the volume of cooler liquid under it. This enables the friction forces to be diminished when the baffle expands. Finally, the presence of the blanket of gas provides more efficient thermal insulation

Cuve de reacteur comportant un baffle constitue par une surface horizontale reposant librement sur des appuis fixes et munie sur ses pourtours interne et externe ainsi qu'a la traversee de chaque virole d'un bord retourne plongeant dans le metal liquide, en emprisonnant sous la surface horizontale du baffle un matelas de gaz neutre. On obtient ainsi une etancheite totale entre le volume de metal liquide chaud au-dessus du baffle et le volume de metal liquide plus froid situe en-dessous. Ceci permet de diminuer les forces de frottement lors des dilatations du baffle. Enfin, la presence du matelas de gaz assure une isolation thermique plus efficaceAdditional details
