Description
Full text: A study of the various methods of gamma-ray photopeak computation has been carried out. The Total Peak Area (TPA) method, the methods proposed by Wasson, Covell, Sterlinski, Quittner and Czauderna and some modifications of these methods have been considered. Totally, seven methods have been considered in theoretical study and then practical evaluation has been carried out for six of them (except of Quittner method). As a result of practical evaluation, such as the other studies, the Wasson-Sterlinski method which is the combination of two methods is proposed as the proposed method. However, a modification by Wasson of the total peak area method is considered to be the most advantageous because of its simplicity and the relatively high precision obtained. (author)
