Polymorphous transformation - a basis of thermal cycling treatment of titanium alloys

Description
The effect of thermal cycling on structure and mechanical properties is investigated for titanium base alloys (VT20, VT22, VT23). It is shown that the application of thermal cycling is based on the occurrence of polymorphous α↔β transformation. In pseudo - α and α + β - titanium alloys the optimal structure is determined which forms under thermal cycling conditions and ensures the best combination of mechanical properties in wrought and cast titanium alloys as well as in welded joints
Abstract (Russian)
Исследовано влияние термоциклической обработки (ТЦО) титановых сплавов (ВТ20, ВТ22, ВТ23) на структуру и механические свойства. Показано, что в основе ТЦО лежит α↔β полиморфное превращение. Выявлена оптимальная структура псевдо-α и α + β - титановых сплавов, формирующаяся в условиях термоциклирования и обеспечивающая наиболее высокий комплекс механических свойств в деформируемых и линейных титановых сплавах, а также в сварных соединенияхAdditional details
