Description

Some recent developments in NMR imaging are surveyed, with emphasis on advances in techniques rather than clinical applications. Topics discussed include improvements aimed at increasing patient throughput, the relative merits of high and low field strengths and the use of paramagnetic ions as NMR contrast agents. Finally, properties of surface coils and their use in both imaging and spatially resolved spectroscopy are reviewed briefly
